About Drone Operator

I'm Doug — a Part 107 pilot based in Irondequoit, just outside Rochester, New York. Unmanned Air Services is a one-person operation, which means the person you talk to is the person flying your job.

What I fly: DJI Air 3S — 1-inch 50 MP sensor, 3× telephoto, 4K/60. Insured, registered, Remote ID compliant. I file LAANC authorization myself for anything inside Rochester Class C, at no charge to the client.

What I shoot: Real estate and land listings (white-label), roof and structure condition documentation (white label available), construction progress, and orthomosaic site mapping. Roughly a third of my work is mapping — I process in WebODM and finish in QGIS, and I deliver georeferenced GeoTIFF, Google Earth KMZ, DSM, and annotated PDF alongside the stills.

Turnaround is 24 hours, standard. Same-day if you book before 11am. That isn't a rush option I'm selling — it's how I run. Depending on queue, Ortho's processed within 72 hours.

On mapping accuracy, so nobody is surprised later. My imagery is georeferenced from onboard GNSS, not RTK. Relative measurement inside the model is reliable; absolute position runs about ±3–5 m. If a job needs better than that, I'll shoot ground control against your surveyor's points and hand you a verification table showing the measured difference. And if what you actually need is a boundary determination, I'll tell you that up front and point you at a licensed surveyor. QGIS Outputs consists of basic open sourced layovers (Google Maps Hybrid, Street Names, etc, volumetric requests will be referred to a Licensed Surveyor.

Before this I was a Marine. Sergeant, 2013–2017, vehicle maintenance — which mostly means I'm the kind of person who writes things down, checks them twice, and shows up when he said he would.
