  • What is Drone.vet?

    Drone.vet is a platform connecting FAA-certified drone pilots with clients needing professional aerial footage for various projects, including real estate, filmmaking, inspections, and more.

  • How does Drone.vet make money?

    We earn a small percentage of the job fee (agreed upon by the client and pilot), plus a service fee from each completed job booked through our platform. 

  • What are the fees for pilots and clients?

    For pilots, Drone.vet takes a 5% commission from the job fee. For clients, a service fee of $20 is added to the project's total cost. These fees support platform maintenance, customer service, and the development of new features.

  • Are Drone.vet pilots insured?

    Pilots on Drone.vet are required to have their own insurance. We verify insurance coverage as part of our pilot onboarding process. Clients can view a pilot's insurance status on their profile.

  • How do I become a pilot with Drone.vet?

    To join Drone.vet, simply sign up as a pilot, it's free to open an account.  As a pilot, you must be FAA Part 107 certified, have a drone that meets our technical requirements, and possess valid drone insurance. Sign up on our website and submit the necessary documentation for verification.

  • What if I'm not Part-107 Certified with the FAA?

    You can still sell your existing footage on Drone.vet, however you will not be able to solicit jobs for the purpose of work in the capacity of a freelancer. 

  • How do I find jobs on Drone.vet?

    Once approved, you can browse and apply for available projects on our platform that match your expertise and location. You'll receive notifications for new job postings that fit your profile.

  • How and when do I get paid for completed jobs?

    Payments are processed through the platform within 2-3 business days after the client approves the final footage. The minimum allowable withdrawal is $100. Ensure your payment information is up to date in your account settings.

  • What methods of payment are available?

    Funds can be remitted via Bank Wire, ACH, PayPal and Zelle.

  • How do I hire a drone pilot through Drone.vet?

    Create an account, post your project with detailed requirements, and browse pilot profiles. You can directly hire a pilot based on their experience, portfolio, and reviews.

  • What types of jobs can I post on Drone.vet?

    Sky's the limit.  Our pilots offer a range of services, including aerial photography and videography for real estate, commercial inspections, agricultural surveys, events, and more.  So long as your job takes place in a zone approved for drone flight.

  • How much does it cost to hire a drone pilot?

    Pilots will specify their billable hours on their profile.  At checkout, a service fee of $20 is applied.

  • How Does Drone.vet Ensure Quality and Safety?

    2. Pilot Verification: To further ensure reliability and professionalism, we conduct a verification process for every pilot, reviewing their experience, skills, and insurance coverage.

    3. Insurance Requirements: We mandate that all pilots carry appropriate drone insurance to protect against unforeseen incidents, providing an additional layer of security for our clients.

    4. Quality Control: To maintain our high standards of service, we regularly review pilot performance based on client feedback and project outcomes, ensuring only the best pilots are available for your projects.

    5. Safety Protocols: Our platform promotes adherence to FAA guidelines and local regulations, ensuring that all flights are conducted safely and responsibly.

    6. Educational Resources: We provide pilots with access to continuous learning opportunities, including safety practices, technological advancements, and regulatory updates, fostering a culture of excellence and safety.

  • How is the final product delivered?

    Pilots can upload the final footage to a cloud storage service of their choice and share a link with you. Alternatively, for an additional fee, we can arrange to have the footage delivered on a physical USB drive.
